Collection: Automatic Mouse Trap

An automatic mouse trap saves you from resetting, rebaiting and emptying traps every morning. The Rat Vac catches up to 60 mice without resetting or rebaiting after each catch.

Which automatic mouse trap setup fits your situation

Tired of constantly resetting, rebaiting, and emptying traditional mouse traps? Meet the Rat Vac Automatic Mouse Trap, capable of capturing up to 60 mice without manually resetting or rebaiting after every catch!

Its advanced motion sensor automatically activates a powerful vacuum for 10 seconds when a mouse enters for the bait, then shuts off, ready for the next mouse. Ideal for kitchens, attics, garages, barns, and even inside walls and ceilings with proper access.

Set it up once. Catch multiple mice. Let the Rat Vac do the work!

Snap traps have to be set, checked and emptied by hand. The Rat Vac slides in under the base cabinets and pulls each mouse into the vac drum.

For mice, a 16-gallon, 6-HP wet/dry vac is enough (sold separately).

Only one or two mice

An automatic trap is more than you need here. Two hooded snap traps along the wall cost a lot less, and the hood covers the trap.

Rat Vac automatic mouse trap

Why mice go into the Rat Vac

Mice can lick the bait off a snap trap and walk away. In the Rat Vac, a mouse has to cross the motion sensor to reach the bait plate.

  • Load the bait plate full of crunchy peanut butter.
  • A mouse crosses the sensor and the vac turns on.
  • The vac shuts off and waits for the next mouse.

Twin Tip: take the snap traps away once the Rat Vac is set. If mice can still eat off a snap trap, they'll ignore the Rat Vac.

Where to set an automatic mouse trap in the kitchen

Where to set an automatic mouse trap in a kitchen: by the outlet, along the toe kick, beside the fridge 123
  1. Near the outlet. Keep the vac and its cord out of the walkway.
  2. In front of the toe kick. Mice run under the cabinets, out of sight.
  3. Beside the fridge gap. Look for droppings behind it first.

Seal the gaps under the sink and around the pipes before you set it.

"This thing SUCKS!! Sucks the mice and rats right up & out of my garage!! Sticky traps always catch the lizards which I kinda like as they eat insects. I haven't found 1 lizard in my vacuum yet but I have found plenty of mice. Its only been about a week and I haven't seen any evidence of mice in my garage. I might get another one to put outside of the garage now too!"

"Setup was easy, pretty straightforward. You do need to make sure that you have a Wet/Dry Vac with the right hose size to connect. Caught two mice the first night and another one the next."

"Thought the rat trap would be to powerful for mice to trigger. The bait tugger made them pull and active it! Love it!"

Frequently Asked Questions

One where you never take a mouse off a kill bar. The Rat Vac pulls mice into a shop vac's drum when they reach the bait. For a mouse or two, a hooded snap trap keeps the trap covered.

Slide a bait tugger onto the snap trap, put the bait in the tugger and set it with the hood on. The Rat Vac has no spring to set at all: load the bait plate, plug it in and switch on the vac.

We use crunchy peanut butter. Load the bait plate or the bait tugger well, and smear a little at the entrance.

The one that matches how many you have. For one or two mice, snap traps along the wall. For mice every night in the kitchen or garage, an automatic trap like the Rat Vac, so you're not resetting traps every morning.
