Collection: Automatic Rat Trap

An automatic rat trap saves you from resetting traps, replacing bait and disposing of rats one at a time. The Rat Vac catches up to 35 rats without resetting or rebaiting after each catch.

Which automatic rat trap setup fits your situation

Tired of resetting traps, replacing bait, and disposing of rats one at a time? Meet the Rat Vac Automatic Rat Trap, designed to capture up to 35 rats without manually resetting or rebaiting after every catch!

Its motion sensor automatically activates a powerful vacuum for 10 seconds when a rat enters for the bait, then shuts off, ready for the next rat. Ideal for attics, garages, crawl spaces, barns, and even extracting rats from inside walls and ceilings with proper access.

One bait station. Multiple catches. No constant resetting or rebaiting.

You don't want to check traps or touch rats

Snap traps mean a check every morning and a rat to pull off the kill bar. With the Rat Vac, the rat ends up in the vac drum.

It plugs into an outlet and runs on a 16-gallon wet/dry vac (sold separately).

Rat Vac automatic rat trap

How the Rat Vac runs on its own

  1. Wave a paper towel in front of the sensor. The vac should start right away.
  2. A rat walks in for the bait and crosses the sensor.
  3. The vac pulls the rat into the drum, then the trap is ready for the next one.

Twin Tip: seal the way in and take away their food first. Rats with nothing else to eat go straight for the bait plate.

Where to set an automatic rat trap in a crawl space

Where to set an automatic rat trap in a crawl space: below the outlet, beside the stained pipe, under the vent 123
  1. Against the foundation, near the outlet. Rats run the edges.
  2. Beside the pipe with the dark stain. That grease is a runway.
  3. Below the vent, once you have sealed it with mesh. Rats still inside keep coming back to it.

Load the bait plate with crunchy peanut butter and smear a little at the entrance.

"I’ve been using this product for nearly a year and I have to say it is indeed a game changer in the pest control field! This rodent sensor allows you to bait the bait plate up to the max without a possibility of any rodents taking or removing the bait and it also creates a strong aroma giving you a higher chance of catching rodents over traditional traps. The best part ? You set it up once and can it unbothered for weeks while the RatVac does its thing! Shoutout rodent stoppers! This is AWESOME!"

"Was a bit skeptical about spending this money on a trap but my pride and joy, BMW Z8 was getting eaten up by rats and mice. I set it up and the only concern was if it would suck up a monster rat. Well I have to tell you, it was worth every penny. It sucked up the biggest rat ever and saved my car from further damage. I'm ordering up another for my other garage. Awesome product."

"5 STARS! HIGHLY recommend. We have fruit trees, chickens, wood piles, etc... everything you need to atract RATS. Yuck. This trap is the best I've ever used. I baited mine up with peanut butter and some chicken feed (that is what they like at my place) but didn't turn it on so they would get comfortable eating in there. The first night I turned it on I caught 4. The customer service is also 5 STARS in answering questions and replacement of something goes wrong."

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. CO2-powered traps like the Goodnature A24 reset after every strike. The Rat Vac has nothing to reset: its motion sensor runs the vac for 10 seconds for each rat, then waits for the next one, up to 35 rats.

Yes. Some are battery boxes that kill with a shock. The Rat Vac is powered too, but it plugs into an outlet and uses a motion sensor to switch on a shop vac instead of a shock.

Usually the rats still have food somewhere else or a way in and out. Seal the entry points and take away food, then trap. Rats are wary of new things, so set traps on their runway and give them a few days.

Sealing the way in, then trapping the rats left inside. An automatic trap helps because it keeps catching through the night without anyone resetting it.
