Setup & Installation:

1. The Shop Vac Setup: Remove the filter from your wet/dry vac. Add 7–9 inches of water to the drum, along with a few drops of dish soap (this helps keep rodents at the bottom so they cannot climb out).
2. Assembly: Attach the Rat Vac housing to your vacuum hose and plug the sensor into a power source.
3. The "Paper Towel Test": Before setting it for the night, pass a paper towel in front of the sensor to ensure the vacuum triggers immediately and maintains full suction.
4. Baiting: Load the internal bait plate generously with crunchy peanut butter. Smear a small amount at the entrance to create a "scent trail."
5. Placement & Disguise: Place the unit flush against a wall in a high-activity area. Crucial: Cover or "disguise" the unit with cardboard boxes, wood, or furniture to make it look like part of the environment.
